Nick Hornby signs for the VFFC!!

Yes, it's true Nick Hornby writer of Fever Pitch, About a Boy, and High Fidelity signed for the Velvet Fog last night, he wrote "For Rob, Nick Hornby" in my copy of Fever Pitch, then signed other books for members of the VFFC.
He also agreed to pose with the world famous VFFC shirt and was very impressed with our team name.
He has a new book out called "A Long way down" he read a few passages from it and it sounds pretty good.
You can hear the whole reading on radio station KALW.

isn't he just a fiction writer, though?

Hah!! who put that? Nick Hornby is far more than a fiction writer, have you not read 'Fever Pitch'..........Rob can you remind us all how it ended....something about a load of gooners running around singing 'we won the league on merseyside'...True life, now that is drama

To be honest, I think the VFFC could use a good fiction writer at this point. At least in his match reports, we would CRUSH the competition!

Hi Rob and Kari,

Got your note. So, another Brit too eh? We love Americans - we got the inspiration to start the UK farmers' markets movement from the USA. It's also why we spend so much time there. Well, you know where to stay when you visit Bath - with the other Kari and Rob :)

Good luck on the Big Day,

Rob and Kari (and Arun and Anna and Finn and Felix and Claudia - we're very prolific!)
